The Adventures of Leonidas Witherall aired in June of 1944. It only lasted one year. This show was based on the novels of Phoebe Atwood Taylor under the pseudonym, Alice Tilton. The lead character, played by Walter Hampden, is a boy’s school instructor who is an amateur detective on the side. His housekeeper, Mrs. Mollet is played by Ethel Remey first and then, Agnes Moorehead, loves giving her opinion on any matter. In the novels, Mrs. Mollet was just a minor character, however, in the radio show, she is more like his sidekick.
