Academy Award Theater

 

This radio show premeired in 1946. The show attempted to take the great movies of the day and turn them into radio broadcasts for the masses to enjoy. They hired the most popular actors of the day. This show only ran for 39 weeks because of the high price to hire these stars to perform. These were¬†classic shows but the company that set out to create them just couldn’t handle the high cost of production.
